Florence Luckner was very involved in state and regional politics in a time when there were few, if any women involved. She was a Republican Committee Woman in Elk Grove Township and served with Sherman Canty and William Busse. She was an election judge for 30 years and was the only Republican on the 39 member staff of the Cook County Clerk’s Election Department. She was a member of the Elk Grove Township Republican Organization and spent 10 years as the treasurer for the 13th Congressional District Republican Woman’s Club.
