Welcome!
The Village of Mount Prospect turned 100 on February 3, 2017! What began as a small farming community is now the home to almost 60,000 people. The Village’s elected officials and staff, as well as the volunteer Centennial Commission, all fervently hope that each resident and businessperson will find his or her own unique way to join in the celebration which is planned for 2017.
This website will allow you to learn more about local history (from both the distant and recent past), hidden local treasures, talented local residents and much more. You will also be able to keep up with upcoming Centennial celebrations as well as Centennial-themed events run by local clubs, organizations and governmental entities. Remember to celebrate your history because you are adding to it every day.
A Message From Mayor Arlene Juracek
It’s not every day one can truly say “You’re invited to the party of the century!” As we celebrate the Village of Mount Prospect Centennial, you are invited to take part. Let’s make it a memorable and fun tribute to our founding visionaries, and the succeeding generations who continue to make Mount Prospect a welcoming, nurturing and special place to live, work and enjoy life. Mount Prospect’s Centennial celebration is more than a single event. It’s a showcase of community spirit, neighborhood engagement and business support to be celebrated over the coming months. Thank you for checking out our web site and for your part as a Centennial celebrant!
